SANTA ANA, Calif. – Alexis Smith and Deontre Johnlouis Jr. were named Santa Ana College Student-Athletes of the Month for January 2018 for their efforts on and off the court.
Smith, a sophomore out of Villa Park High, has been a key part of the Women's Basketball team this year. In the month of January, she averaged 7.8 points per game while leading the Dons in three pointers made with 18 at a percentage of 36.7.
Johnlouis Jr. is in his first season with the Santa Ana Men's Basketball team and averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during the month of January. The freshman from Lafayette High in Louisiana scored a career high 20 points against Santiago Canyon College on January 24th.
Both of these individuals will also be acknowledged for their success in the classroom at Scholar-Athlete Night on Wednesday.
