SANTA ANA, Calif. – The 2018 Santa Ana College Scholar-Athlete Night was a great success, as 79 student-athletes were recognized at the event on Wednesday night.
These student-athletes maintained a 3.0 grade point average in 12 or more units through the 2017 Fall semester while competing in their respective sports.
After highlighting all the scholar-athletes, the Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Year were revealed. Mikelle Taylor of the Women's Volleyball team took home the honors on the female side and Emilio Luengas was named the recipient of the men.
These two scholar-athletes not only received a certificate for their achievement but will also receive a 1,500 dollar scholarship funded by the Santa Ana College Athletic Hall of Fame.
