MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - With 130 golfers and 21 sponsors, the 2018 Ed Arnold Golf Classic generated $53,0000 to help provide scholarships to eight student athletes this year.

Emilio Luengas (Men's Soccer) and Mikelle Taylor (Volleyball) earned their scholarships after being named Santa Ana College Student Athletes of the Year while Alexis Smith (Women's Soccer), Cole Hoskins (Baseball), Dory Aoun (Football), Eric Jimenez (Cross Country/ Track & Field), Karlee Rivera (Softball) and Priscilla De La Torre (Softball) joined them as scholarship recipients.

Each student athlete will be awarded $1,500 as they continue their education and athletic careers at universities.

The golf tournament, hosted at the Mission Viejo Country club on Monday, May 7th, was a four person team scramble with prizes awarded for contests such as flight winners, closest to the pin, longest drive and the putting contest.

After golfing, participants enjoyed a cocktail hour which included a silent auction and then wrapped up with dinner, a presentation honoring Santa Ana's scholarship recipients and a live auction hosted by Ed Arnold himself.
