Andrea Picchi was hired as the Dean of Kinesiology, Health & Athletics in March of 2024. Andrea grew up in Anaheim and attended Magnolia High before joining the Irvine Valley College women's basketball team. After two years at IVC, she transferred to Whittier College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. She then went on to earn a MS in Kinesiology and a MA in Education with an emphasis in Cross Cultural Teaching. In 2012, Andrea was hired at West Hills College Lemoore to coach the inaugural season of the women’s basketball program and teach health and kinesiology. In 2020, Andrea was named the interim Dean of Kinesiology, PE and Athletics and secured the permanent position later that same year.

 Andrea’s background includes 23 years of coaching and teaching experience, 22 of those at the collegiate level. She has held multiple positions at the state level in the 3C2A. Some of those include CVC Executive Board member, Showcase Director, Equity and Diversity Council, and CCCWBCA State Representative. Academically Andrea has held positions on various committees on campus such as Curriculum, Senate, OER, Umoja Coordinator, and Professional Development.

Andrea has experience in organizing athletic and academic resources in support of student success. She has previously held coaching and teaching positions at Fullerton Community College as well as Cal State San Marcos. Andrea looks forward to sharing her experience and skill set to provide support for student athlete success as well as guide the department towards continuous growth and improvement.
