HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – In its first Orange Empire Conference match of the season, the Santa Ana College Beach Volleyball team was defeated by Cypress College by a score of 4-1.
The Dons started off the day with a win from their first team out. Viridiana Serrano and Mikelle Taylor teamed up to put Santa Ana on the board with a 21 (16-21, 21-14, 15-12) victory over their opponents.
Destinee Blue and Miranda Moisa looked to add on to the lead as they represented the second team for the Dons. The duo put up a good fight but lost the match 0-2 (20-22, 17-21).
Santa Ana was unable to pull out another win in the last three matches of the day. Following the match, the Dons now sit at a record of 2-8, 0-1 in conference play.
The Don Beach Volleyball team returns to action on Friday, April 7th against Fullerton College and Golden West College. Game time is set for 10:00 AM.
