HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Viridiana Serrano and Mikelle Taylor maintained their undefeated record, going 2-0 in Santa Ana's double header against Antelope Valley and Riverside on Friday.
The Don's top pair dropped its first game by a score of 21-12 but turned things around in the next two games, topping its opponents 21-10, 15-9 to escape with the win. In its second match, the pair cruised to a 21-19, 21-14 win against Riverside's best pair.
As a team, the Dons went 1-1 on the day after losing 3-2 against Antelope Valley and bouncing back with a 4-1 win over Riverside.
Santa Ana's second and third teams went 1-1 while their fifth team finished 2-0 to bring their overall team record to 5-4.
Next Friday, Dons Beach Volleyball will play in their first triple header of the season as they face off against Cypress, Fullerton and Golden West starting at 10:00 a.m.
