SANTA ANA, Calif. – After an amazing career in both beach and indoor volleyball at Santa Ana College, Mikelle Taylor has chosen to transfer to Ottawa University to continue her career.
Taylor leaves SAC with the indoor single season kills record at 309 and a grand total of 565 kills in her career. The outside hitter from Valencia High was the focal point for the Santa Ana Volleyball team for the last two years, leading the team in kills and taking home All-Orange Empire Conference honors in both indoor and beach for two consecutive years.
On the beach, Taylor and her partner Viridiana Serrano, were one of the best teams in the state for the past two seasons. They qualified for the CCCAA State Championships both seasons and were the top ranked team for most of their sophomore season.
Taylor will focus on playing beach volleyball for the Spirit next spring.
