SANTA ANA, Calif. – After playing a season of beach volleyball for Santa Ana College, Naomi Ruiz will transfer to Hope International University.
Ruiz played indoor volleyball for Santiago Canyon in the Fall but made the move to Santa Ana for beach season in the Spring. She will play both indoor and beach volleyball for the Royals during the 2019-2020 season.
In her short time with the Dons, the libero from Cypress High made a significant impact on the program.
"Naomi is a true team player. She always puts the team before herself," SAC Head Coach Troy Abbey said. "Hope International is getting someone who's dedicated, a hard worker and has a great attitude."
Hope International University is an NAIA Division I school that competes in Golden State Athletic Conference. The Royals went 16-15, 9-9 and finished in 6th in the conference during the 2018 indoor season.
