Santa Ana Extends Win Streak to Four with Sweep of Road Runners

SANTA ANA, Calif. –  Santa Ana Baseball (8-5) tagged 10 runs on the College of the Desert Roadrunners (3-12) in the rubber game of their series to earn the sweep with a 10-3 victory on Thursday afternoon. The victory gives them their fourth straight win and their second straight 10 plus run performance.

The Dons took advantage of the Roadrunners two errors while putting up 11 hits between eight players to stay hot in their fourth straight win.

Raymond Villanueva padded his stats in the win with three runs batted it, two hits, two runs, two walks and a couple stolen bases while Bryan Leef crushed his fifth home run of the season, which ties him for third in the state through 13 games. Villanueva is now hitting .400 with 10 RBI's, four stolen bases and two home runs. Leef is up to an average of .375 with 15 RBI's and a team high five homers.

Santa Ana's starter Braeden Wallace went five and two third innings, allowing two earned runs before being relieved by Jay Edwards, who took his fourth win of the year.

The Dons will be back on the road this weekend with a game against East Los Angeles College on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and another against Oxnard College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
