Errors Lead to Dons Loss Against No. 4 Saddleback

SANTA ANA, Calif. –  The Dons committed four errors while giving up 16 hits in Tuesday's series opener against No. 4 Saddleback, leading to a 13-1 loss.

Santa Ana had two of their errors in the first inning which resulted in one unearned run to start the game. The Gauchos added three more runs to make it a 4-0 ball game going into the bottom of the fifth inning.

Austin Pritchard put the Dons on the board with a single to drive in Nathan Flores in the fifth inning. Soon after, the Dons rolled into a double play to end the rally.

The score remained tied until the ninth inning when Saddleback extended their lead with nine more runs on six hits and another Don error.

With the loss, Santa Ana drops to 17-15, 5-8 while Saddleback improves to 23-9, 8-5. The two teams will play game two on Thursday at Saddleback with the first pitch set for 2:00 p.m.
