Cachu Shuts Down Mounties, Dons Cruise to 15-5 Win in Game One

WALNUT, Calif. – Nathan Cachu was nearly untouchable on Friday as he picked up his seventh win of the year in game one of Santa Ana's three game SoCal Regional matchup with Mt. San Antonio College.

Cachu dominated the Mounties with an eight inning, one run, three strikeout performance to give the Dons a 1-0 series advantage.

As the lefty from Villa Park High cruised through the Mt. SAC lineup, his offense provided plenty of run support with 15 runs on 21 hits.

The Dons got the bats going right away, scoring three runs in the first inning on a Grant Askins sacrifice fly and a Raymond Villanueva RBI single. Villanueva came around to score on the same play on a Mountie throwing error.

Santa Ana ran away with the win after the quick start, as four players finished with at least three hits. Drake Wood led the way, going 5-5 with four RBI's, four runs and a walk.
