SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana baseball team saw six players land on the 2019 All-Orange Empire Conference teams before heading to post-season play last week.
Nathan Cachu, Raymond Villanueva and Frank Garcia earned first team honors while Copper Hansen, Drake Wood and James Williams landed on the second team.
The group led the Dons to a SoCal Regional Playoff berth as the No. 9 seed and went on the road for a matchup with No. 8 Mt. San Antonio College.
After taking a 15-5 game one win, Santa Ana struggled to get outs and lost the next two games to drop the series 2-1.
SAC finished the year with a 25-17, 12-9 record and placed third in the Orange Empire Conference standings.
The Dons are set to bring back the majority of their roster, setting them up for a possible breakout 2020 season.
