Dons Cruise to 59-8 Victory Over Compton

COMPTON, Calif. – The Santa Ana football team recorded its best offensive game of the year with 59 points and 454 yards of total offense in Saturday's win against Compton College.

The Dons held the Tartars to just eight points and 99 yards, showing complete dominance on both sides of the ball.

Freshman quarterback Luke Wilson went 7-9 for 161 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dons offense. Jorgie Alvarado had his best game of the season with three catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns while Tyriq Wilson recorded his team high fourth touchdown of the season to go along with three receptions and 31 yards.

Santa Ana also ran the ball at will, as six different running backs scored touchdowns and combined for 249 yards on the ground.  Cole Nequette led the way with 64 yards and a touchdown on just four attempts and was closely followed by Kenneth Lamb, who scored and racked up 52 yards on eight rushes.

Defensively, Jalen Jones logged the most tackles for the Dons with six (one for loss) just ahead of Skylar Finley and Kenny Phillips who came up with three tackles apiece.

With the win, the Dons improve to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in American Metro League play. 

Santa Ana hopes to carry this momentum into their next game when they host Glendale College on Saturday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m.
