Dons Break Records on the Way to their First Win of the Season

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Football team broke a few school records as they picked up their first win of the 2021 season with an 83-0 shutout over LA Pierce (0-4) on Saturday night.

Sophomore quarterback Ceasar Ayala led the charge for the Dons (1-3), playing his best game of the year and tossing seven touchdowns to shatter the single-game touchdown record (5) previously shared by six different Dons.

The gunslinger out of Eisenhower finished 12-15 with 338 passing yards to go with his seven touchdowns.

Another record broken on Saturday was for extra points scored as freshman kicker Aaron Rojas took over the top spot in school history with 11 on the night. The previous record was held by Casey Wilson who scored 10 in 1994.

The Dons also broke one of the oldest records in SAC history with 83 points scored in a single-game which was previously owned by the 1924 team that put up 80 against El Centro.

Santa Ana enjoyed the big night as many of the team's freshmen saw the field for extended time while they lifted Head Coach Anthony White to his first career win.

Next Saturday, the Dons hope to keep their momentum as they head back home to host the LA Valley Monarchs (1-3). The Monarchs also earned their first victory of the season on Saturday, defeating LA Harbor 36-31.
