Adam Nyssen enters his fifth year as the Co-Head Coach for the Santa Ana College Football program. Nyssen spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Dons before he was promoted to Co-Head Coach in 2016.

In 2017, Nyssen was named the American Metro League Coach of the Year after leading the Dons to an undefeated 6-0 record in league play. Santa Ana went 7-4 overall and made their first bowl appearance since 2012.

Prior to SAC, Nyssen coached at Long Beach City College (2007-2012) as the Defensive and Special Teams Coordinator. Before that, he was at San Diego State (2004-2006) as the Assistant Defensive Line Coach for two years as well as the Assistant Defensive Backs Coach for one.

In his time as a community college football coach, he has helped over 75 student-athletes earn scholarships and college degrees. “Helping guide student athletes to realize their potential both academically and athletically is my passion,” said Nyssen. “I hope to live up to the great coaches and mentors that came before me; i.e. Geoff Jones, Dave Ogas, and Dick Gorrie.”
