Dons Comeback to Defeat Chaffey 75-69 for First Win of the Season

SANTA ANA, Calif. – In their second game of the 2017-18 season, the Santa Ana Men's Basketball team pulled away from Chaffey College down the stretch to defeat the Panthers by a score of 75-69.

The Dons were down by as much as 11 in the second half but kept fighting to claw their way back into the game.

Sophomore guard D' Caran Anderson was an essential part of the comeback, as he scored 13 of his nineteen points in the second half. He and Cameron High, who led the Dons in scoring with 20 points, combined for 39 points and nine made threes.

Forward Xavier Gunter picked up where he left off, recording twelve rebounds to lead the Dons in that category while adding eight points and a couple of assists. Keyandre Broussard recorded 12 points and five assists to complement his fellow starting guard Jordan Owens, who picked up five assists, three rebounds and three points in the win.

The Dons will wrap up the SAC/SCC Tipoff Tournament on Saturday when they host El Camino College at 4:00 p.m.
