Bailey Has Career Night to Lift Dons to Victory

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Sophomore forward Chris Bailey ripped down a career-high 17 rebounds to go with 19 points for his third double-double of the season to lead the Santa Ana Men's Basketball team to a 68-65 win over El Camino College on Friday night.

Ramon Lopez added 16 points and four assists while Ronald Ellison came off the bench to provide a scoring punch with 15 points and nine boards.

The Dons were aggressive on the defensive end in the first half, forcing the Warriors into 12 turnovers and holding them to a 29 percent shooting percentage. Santa Ana also held the advantage in rebounds (21-17) after grabbing eight offensive boards to help build a 32-26 at the half.

In the second half, the Dons pushed the lead to as much 13 but couldn't put the Warriors away as things got close late in the game. El Camino came up with two three pointers in the final 40 seconds of the game to cut the Don lead to three before forcing the Dons into a turnover to give themselves a chance for the tie with 11 seconds left.

Justin Chambers took a deep last second jumper, but couldn't get it to go, giving Santa Ana their third win of the season.

With the win, SAC improves to 3-5 overall while El Camino falls to 3-7.
