SANTA ANA, Calif. – On Wednesday night, the Santa Ana College men's basketball team battled against Copper Mountain College in an Orange Empire Conference matchup. The Dons managed to stay in striking distance but couldn't quite get over the hump, dropping the contest by a score of 83-76.

Chris Bailey (22pts, 11rbs) and Ramon Lopez (18pts, 6ast) kept the Dons afloat, combining for 40 points on the night. Jared Springer added nine points (3-6 3PM-A) while Ronald Ellison (9pts), Sean Githens (7pts) and James Ruwe (7pts) had solid games off the bench.

As a team, Santa Ana finished with a decent 43.1 (28-65) percent field goal percentage and a 72.2 (13-18) mark at the charity stripe but struggled from three point range, shooting just 31.8 percent (7-22) a game after they canned seven threes in one half alone.
