SANTA ANA - After allowing their first goals of the season in their last game, the Dons defense returned to form as the Dons shut out Oxnard College 3-0 in a non-conference game.

Offensively, the Dons were led by Damian Marquez who found the back of the net twice in the victory. His first goal came late in the first half when Ivan Orozco sent a long pass over the defense. Marquez took three touches and fired a shot past the Condors keeper, giving the Dons a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute.

Marquez' second goal came in the early minutes of the second half when Amos De La Paz sent a corner kick into the box that practically landed on Marquez' foot. One quick touch and the ball was in the back of the net, putting the Dons up 2-0.

The Dons final goal of the game also came off a corner kick. Ozzy Hernandez controlled De La Paz' corner and fed Manuel Gomez who buried a shot for the goal in the 59th minute.

Jose Garcia started the game in goal for the Dons, making three saves before giving way to Jose Garcia in the final minutes. Garcia didn't face a single shot.

The Dons will be taking a week off before returning to action on Friday, September 14 when they host San Diego Mesa College at 4:00 p.m.
