Strong Offensive Push Gives Dons 6-0 Win over San Diego Mesa College

SANTA ANA - Using three goals per half, the Dons remained unbeaten following their 6-0 win over San Diego Mesa College in a non-conference match.

The scoring parade started early when Ricardo Gonzalez and Jose Brand Angulo combined on a pair of passes to free up Victor Jimenez for the first goal of the game in just the sixth minute.

Manuel Gomez put the Dons up 2-0 in the 20th minute after Jimenez sent a free kick in from near the corner that found Gomez for the goal. Amos De La Paz made the half time score 3-0 when he gathered a pass from Uriel Rebollar and scored in the 31st minute.

Rebollar added his name to the goal column when he made a long run past the Olympians defense and fired a shot that found the back of the net in the 58th minute to put the Dons up 4-0.

Finally, a pair of goals just four minutes apart from each other gave the Dons the 6-0 final. Oscar Solares headed a pass to the front of the box where John Teti was able to head a goal in before Teti assisted Gonzalez for the final goal of the game in the 69th minute.

The Dons two goalkeepers, Chris Martinez and Jose Garcia, each played a half to post the Dons fifth shutout of the season. Martinez made the only save of the game for the Dons.

Next up; the Dons continue non-conference action on Tuesday, September 18 when they host Los Angeles Harbor College at 1:00 p.m.
