SANTA ANA - The Dons used a penalty kick in the 31st minute to play Los Angeles Harbor College to a 1-1 tie in a non-conference game at home.

The visiting Seahawks (5-1-1) grabbed the only lead of the game in the 25th minute when Eric Medina scored on a corner kick. It was the first goal the Dons (3-0-3) had allowed in 207 minutes and the only goal scored by an opponent other than Palomar College.

The Dons got the equalizer six minutes later when Ivan Orozco was fouled in the box and converted the ensuing penalty kick. Orozco had a chance to give the Dons a lead later in the game on another penalty kick in the 68th minute. But his second attempt of the game rang off the crossbar, leading to the 1-1 tie.

Jose Garcia made seven saves for the Dons as he played the entire game in goal, allowing just the one goal. His counterpart, Blessing Ngwa, made two saves while also allowing one goal.

The Dons wrap up non-conference action on Friday when they travel to San Bernardino Valley College at 4:00 p.m.
