Dons and Fullerton College Play to Scoreless Tie

SANTA ANA - The Dons played Fullerton College to a scoreless tie in an Orange Empire Conference match, thanks in large part to both posts behind the SAC goalkeeper.

The Dons (11-3-4, 8-2-1) had the first scoring opportunity early on but Noel Arvizu's attempt was rolled too softly and easily blocked by the Hornets defense at the end line.

The Hornets (4-3-4, 5-5-6) had both of their best scoring opportunities within seconds of each other late in the half. The first Fullerton attempt was blocked away by Chris Martinez right before the second shot hit both goal posts, ensuring the scoreless tie.

Martinez made five saves for the Dons while his counterpart, Eduardo Ramos, made two saves for the Hornets.

The Dons travel to Orange Coast College on Friday before their final home game of the season next Tuesday, against Irvine Valley College.
