Dons Drop Last Match 2-0 but Finish Third in OEC

SANTA ANA, Calif. –  In their last regular season home match of the season, the Santa Ana College Men's Soccer team fell to the Golden West College Rustlers by a score of 2-0.

The Dons played Golden West tough but gave up a goal in each half to take the loss. With that, the Dons drop to 7-2-5 in the Orange Empire Conference and 10-4-6 overall. The Rustlers improve to 11-2-1 in the OEC and 15-3-2 overall for a first-place finish.

Santa Ana has solidified its spot as the third-place team in the conference and will most likely be heading to the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Regionals.

The sophomores that played in their last regular season home match of their Santa Ana careers were the following. Stephen Sanchez, Pablo Capetillo, Matheus Cuhna, Noe Alvizo-Chavez, Everado Serrano, David Chavez, Joseph Vasquez, Emilio Luengas, Daniel Castro, Anthony Franco, Matheus Silva and Cristian Gutierrez.

In its time at Santa Ana, that group contributed to 24 wins and two third place Orange Empire Conference finishes.

The Dons will find out Tuesday, Nov. 14 what their future holds.
