No. 18 Santa Ana Edges Out No. 13 Golden West in OEC Battle

 SANTA ANA, Calif. – Diego Henriquez came up big for the Santa Ana men's soccer team on Friday afternoon, scoring his first goal of the season to put the Dons up in the 15th minute of action.

Santa Ana would keep the lead for the remainder of the match, defeating the No. 13 Golden West Rustlers for their first Orange Empire Conference (OEC) win.

The win comes at a good time as the Dons stood in 6th in the OEC standings after tying in their last three matches. With the win, Santa Ana climbs to sixth and gives Golden West their first conference loss of the season.

Santa Ana goalkeeper Alexis Morales earned his first start of the season against the Rustlers. The sophomore from Capistrano Valley High had a solid game with couple clutch saves and played all 90 minutes.

UP NEXT

On Tuesday, the Dons will for their second straight win against Cypress College in the second of their five match home stand. Cypress sits at 0-5 in conference play and will be hungry for a win.
