Dons Score Three Second Half Goals to Grab Non-Conference Win Against GWC

SANTA ANA, Calif. – In a non-conference match, No. 16 Santa Ana hosted No. 15 Golden West on Friday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Dons exploded for three goals in the second half to cruise a 3-0 win.

Agustin Barajas scored his second goal of the season just a minute into the second to give the Dons a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Paulo Gama doubled the lead for Santa Ana with a sliding goal to make it a 2-0 game. Sophomore forward Iam Hurtado capped off the day with the Dons last goal in 68th minute, officially putting the game out of reach.

With the win, Santa Ana improves to 8-1-3 overall while Golden West drops to 7-4-2.

GAME NOTES

Although this was a non-conference match, both teams wanted to win to strengthen their RPI headed into playoffs. The Dons will surely move up in the ranking after defeating a solid Rustler team.
