Santa Ana Men’s Soccer Battles No. 6 Golden West, Finishes with 1-1 Tie

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Aydin Abdollahi scored in the 86th minute of Santa Ana's Orange Empire Conference matchup against the No. 6 ranked Golden West Rustlers (7-0-4, 3-0-1) to give the Dons (4-3-3, 1-0-1) a 1-1 draw.

The Dons were down for the majority of the second half as the Rusters got on the board first when Ricky Briseno scored in the 47th minute.

But SAC continued to fight and eventually saw Jose Villa connect with Abdollahi for his second assist of the season.

With the tie, the Dons sit in fourth place in the OEC standings but remain in the chase for a title having played two less games than most teams.

Santa Ana will be in action again on Tuesday when they host Cypress (6-3-2, 2-1) in another OEC match. The Chargers defeated Orange Coast 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
