Dons Earn No. 12 Seed, Set to Host No. 21 Santa Barbara City in SoCal Regionals on Wednesday

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana Men's Soccer team has earned the No. 12 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host No. 21 Santa Barbara City (10-5-5, 5-4-1) in round 1 on Wednesday, November 16th at 2:00 p.m.

The Dons (10-6-5, 6-4-2) finished tied for third in a highly competitive Orange Empire Conference that will send five out of seven teams to the playoffs. SAC got hot down the stretch until falling to the No. 3 seed Fullerton 2-0 in the regular season finale.

SBCC earned their spot in the playoffs following a third place finish in the Western States-North Conference standings. The Vaqueros ended their conference season with a 5-3 loss to No. 2 Oxnard.

SAC will need their backline to be sharp in this one as Santa Barbara City has been one of the best goal scoring teams in the state this season. The Vaqueros are 5th in total goals scored at 63 while the Dons have only allowed 27 on the year.

The last time these two teams met was back in 2019 for a playoff matchup in which Santa Ana  advanced following penalty kicks with the score at 2-2 (3-1 PKs).
