FULLERTON, Calif. – Santa Ana Softball picked up another Orange Empire Conference win on Tuesday, as they shutout the Fullerton Hornets 3-0.
Priscilla De La Torre recorded her eighth win of the season with a complete game shutout. She struck out four and gave up four hits while improving to 8-1, good for fourth best in the conference.
Once again, the Dons relied on Jeana Gonzales to provide the run support. Gonzales came through with a fielder's choice to drive in the first run of the game right out of the gates. In the third, she doubled to left center to bring home two more, giving her a total of three runs batted it on one hit in the game.
Santa Ana is now 14-8, 8-2 after the win while Fullerton falls to 10-11, 5-6. The Dons are scheduled to host No. 5 Santiago Canyon on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
