Dons Shutout Saddleback to Keep Pace in OEC Standings

SANTA ANA, Calif. – With a 7-0 shutout against Saddleback College in Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference matchup, the Santa Ana Softball team stays in the hunt for a conference championship.  

The Dons won their 12th conference game of the season on Wednesday, which puts them just a half game out of first place with seven OEC contests remaining.

Victoria Moreno had a strong outing to earn her first win of the season as well as the first shutout of her career. The freshman out of Loara High went seven innings with a strikeout and only four hits. Moreno also pinched in with a hit, a run and an RBI.

At the plate, the top of the lineup carried the Dons as Tiana Patrick, Desirae McCormick and Jeana Gonzales collected six hits, three runs and four runs batted.

On Thursday, the Dons will hit the road to play College of the Canyons in a non-conference game starting at 1:00 p.m.
