Dons Pull Out a 2-1 Win Over RCC After 11 innings

SANTA ANA, Calif. – It took 11 innings to get it done but the Santa Ana Softball team pulled out the 2-1 win over the Riverside City Tigers in a big Orange Empire Conference game.

The Dons made it another exciting game against the Tigers, beating them in walk off fashion for the second time this season. This time, the final run came from a throwing error that allowed Tiana Patrick to score from first to end the game.

SAC's starting pitcher Kali Kitsinis was by far the player of the game in this one as she toughed out 11 innings with three strikeouts and only one unearned run on her way to the win.

Santa Ana clinches at least third place with the win and pulls themselves into a tie for second at 13-6 with No. 7 Santiago Canyon College with just two games left in the regular season.

The win comes after a four game losing streak which dropped them to third in the OEC standings after being in first or second for most of the season.

On Monday, the Dons will host Golden West College in their last home game of the season at 3:00 p.m.
