Santa Ana Powers Through San Diego Mesa 13-5

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nicole Yniguez earned her fourth win of the season while Drea DeFord came up with two critical hits in her season debut in Tuesday's non-conference match with San Diego Mesa College.

Yniguez was on her game as she recorded seven strikeouts in five innings with only one earned run. She's now 4-1 with a 1.87 ERA in eight appearances.

Deford started her Don career with an RBI single in the first inning and then shot a double into right center for another RBI.  

Karlee Rivera and Raeleen Pelayo also had big days, combining for five RBI's, three hits and two runs.

The Dons defeated the Olympians 13-5 in five innings to improve to 7-2 overall before heading to conference play tomorrow.

UP NEXT

Santa Ana will travel to Riverside for their first Orange Empire Conference game of the season. The Tigers are 5-3 after dropping their last contest to Mt. San Antonio College 6-1 on Sunday.
