SAC Softball Seeded 11th, Will Travel to Antelope Valley for CCCAA Regional Playoffs

SANTA ANA, Calif. – After securing a fourth place finish in the Orange Empire Conference standings with a record of 24-14, 12-9, the Santa Ana softball team has qualified for the 2019 CCCAA SoCal Regionals as the No. 11 seed and will travel to play No. 6 Antelope Valley (31-9, 14-0) on May 3-4th.

ABOUT THE MATCH-UP

The two teams met in the opening weekend of the season in the Glendale David "Hawk" Wilder Memorial Tournament, with the Dons coming away with a 10-4 victory. Santa Ana fell behind 2-0 in the first innings but came alive with a couple five run innings late in the game. Nicole Yniguez recorded her first win of the season as the Dons improved to 4-0.

Antelope Valley recovered from the loss and finished the season with a 31-9 overall record and an undefeated 14-0 record in Western States Conference play.

ADMISSION

Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for students (with valid ID), staff/faculty, senior citizens (60+) and children under 12 years of age. Only CCCAA-approved passes will be honored.

GAME TIME

First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. on Friday and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Game three will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday if needed.
