Rosas and Kirkpatrick Throw Combined No-Hitter, Dons Win 10-0

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana softball saw some fireworks in its first home game of the season as Emily Rosas and Brandi Kirkpatrick threw a combined no-hitter to give the Dons a 10-0 win over the Citrus Owls.

Rosas earned her second win of the season after starting the game and striking out five batters in four innings of work. Kirkpatrick entered in the fifth to complete the no hitter. Although she walked one and hit another to give the Owls their first baserunners of the game, Kirkpatrick settled down and finished with a strikeout.

Offensively, the Dons jumped on the Citrus pitching right away, scoring five in the first inning. They added another two in the second and three in the third inning to give themselves a nice cushion and an early day as the mercy rule came into play after four and a half innings.

Jordan Kyles and Andrea Uriarte had two hits apiece and combined for three runs as well as a couple runs batted in. Kirkpatrick added two hits and an RBI herself.

Airilin Ramirez, Iyari Ramirez, Jay Knoefler and Adriana Martinez all got in on the action with one hit each while combining for 4 RBI's.

UP NEXT: The Dons will be back at home again on Monday, February 3rd to host College of the Desert at 3:00 p.m. Desert is 1-1 overall and will be playing a doubleheader against Grossmont on Saturday.
