Men's Swimming Notches Win over Cypress College in Season-Opening Tri-Meet

RIVERSIDE - The Dons men's swimming team picked up a victory in its first competition of the season, defeating Cypress College 99-68 at Riverside City College. Along with their win, the Dons also had a pair of losses, losing to the host Tigers 173-33 as well as a 158-29 loss to Golden West College.

The top performance for the Dons belonged to Sebastian Zornosa who finished fourth in the 1,000 yard freestyle as well as sixth in the 100 yard freestyle. Ian Dimas also posted a fourth place finish with his coming in the 500 yard freestyle.

Following Zornosa and Dimas was Micah Mathis who finished fifth in the 50 yard freestyle while Joseph Cason and Travis Ang took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 200 yard individual medley. Cason also took fifth in the 200 yard backstroke.

The Dons relay teams took a pair of top-5 finishes as well with the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Luis Gonzalez, Dimas, Zornosa and Mathis taking fourth place while the 400 yard medley relay team of Cason, Gonzalez, Mathis and Dimas took fifth place.
