The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's track & field team lost to Saddleback College and Golden West College in an Orange Empire Conference dual meet held at Saddleback College.
Despite the pair of losses, the Dons received several strong individual performances highlighted by Susana Marquez' victory in the 1,500 meter run. Marquez, who also took second in the 3,000 meter run, crossed the finish line more than eight seconds ahead of her closest competitor.
Teammates Saira Perez, Cassandra Melendrez and Yoselin Torres finished in seventh, eighth and 10th place respectively in the 1,500. Marquez was followed by Perez in fourth place in the 3,000.
Priscilla Felix led the way for the Dons in the field events as she finished third in the hammer throw, fourth in the javelin throw and sixth in the shot put.
Venny Van turned in a pair of fourth place finishes in the 100 meter dash and the high jump while also finishing in seventh place in the long jump.
