Dons Track & Field Competes at CCCAA SoCal Prelims, Sends Three to State

CERRITOS, Calif. – The Santa Ana Track and Field team sent several athletes to compete in the 2017 SoCal Preliminaries on May, 6th at Cerritos College. Toni Lopez stood out with a 3rd place finish in the 10,000-meter event, while also breaking a school record with a time of 37:35.46. She will be advancing to the CCCAA State Championships.

The Dons will also send Paulino Sanchez and Eric Jimenez to state on the men's side. Sanchez finished 5th in the Men's 10,000-meter event with a personal record time of 31:56.82, while Jimenez placed 7th with his own new personal record of 32:08.53.

Cerritos College will host the 2017 CCCAA Track and Field SoCal Championships on Saturday, May 13th. Several Dons will compete in the meet in an attempt to qualify for the CCCAA State Championships on May 20th at American River College.
