Santa Ana Collects 16 Total Medals in OEC Finals, 11 Dons Qualify for SoCal Regionals

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Each one of Santa Ana's track & field athletes who participated earned a metal in the 2018 Orange Empire Conference Finals that were held on Friday, April 27th at Riverside City College.

Adrienne Jenkins, Alexandria Owens, Eric Jimenez, Daniel Gonzalez, Dalton Aviles, Malik ComfordLizandro Hernandez and Octavio Moreno qualified for the CCCAA SoCal Regionals as individuals while Denilson Santamaria, Kara Lattimore and Monique Azpeitia joined them by qualifying in the mile relays.

"I'm very proud of our young team and what they've accomplished this year", said Head Coach Miriam Mitzel. "We are putting SAC back on the map this year".

The Dons Track & Field team is filled with freshman and led by their lone sophomore Eric Jimenez. They have steadily improved as individuals throughout the year and are peaking just in time for the post-season.  

Next up for the young Dons is the 2018 CCCAA SoCal Regionals held at San Diego Mesa College on Friday, May 5th.
