Dons Drop Second Straight Conference Game with 75-68 Loss to Irvine Valley

SANTA ANA - The Dons struggled offensively in their latest Orange Empire Conference game as they fell to visiting Irvine Valley College 75-68. The loss drops the Dons to 11-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference while the Lasers improve to 12-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Along with being outshot from the field, the Dons were on the wrong side of a sizeable advantage from the free throw line. With 62 combined fouls called, the Lasers made 47 trips to the free throw line where they accounted for 36 of their points. The Dons, on the other hand, made just 20 points on 33 attempts. That advantage swung the favor as the Dons made two more field goals than Irvine Valley while also hitting five more three-pointers.

Ashley Whisler led the way for the Dons in the loss with 21 points while Jazmin Johnson added 13 points and Carly Ducat another 10. Irvine Valley also had three scorers in double digits, led by Jasmine Kennon with 14 followed by Conerie Brennan with 12 and Jay Sneeden with 11.
