SANTA ANA - The Dons found themselves in too big of a hole late as their rally fell short in a 71-62 loss to the visiting Orange Coast College Pirates. The loss drops the Dons to 11-9 on the season and 1-3 in conference while the Pirates improve to 11-9 and 2-2.

After being down by 16 points with just under four minutes remaining the Dons began to rally late, getting as close as six points at 65-59 following a Carly Ducat layup with 1:28 remaining. However, the Pirates finished the game out by hitting six of their final eight free throws to secure the nine-point victory.

In the loss, the Dons were led by Jazmine Johnson who scored 21 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. Ashley Whisler also scored 21 points representing the only other Don in double digits.
