Jazmine Johnson and Ashley Whisler each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at California State University, Monterey Bay. The duo are receiving scholarships after leading the Dons to the 2013-14 CCCAA Playoffs as sophomores.

Whisler finished the season as the conference's leading scorer with 20.5 points per game while Johnson wasn't far behind, finishing third with 15.5 points per game. The pair was selected First-Team All-Orange Empire Conference while Whisler was also named Third-Team All-State.

Johnson and Whisler will be joining an Otters team that finished 8-17 overall last season while posting a 5-17 record in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Dons dynamic duo will help replace four seniors while joining a squad that boasted seven California community college student-athletes last season.

At Santa Ana, Johnson and Whisler helped the Dons to a 15-15 mark, including a first round win over Cerritos College in the CCCAA Playoffs. The Dons also won their host tournament while taking third place in the Moorpark Tournament earlier in the season.

"We brought these two here to change our culture," Head Coach Flo Luppani said. "They've embraced everything our program stands for; success on and off the court. They're leaving a legacy here. They got us back to the playoffs, they got us back to winning. They'll leave and go somewhere and do great things but they'll also leave that legacy here at Santa Ana College."

For the Dons and Luppani, this signing marks the 10th student-athlete to receive a scholarship since the 2006 season.
