SANTA ANA - The Dons dropped an Orange Empire Conference game 86-61 to visiting Cypress College. The loss drops the Dons record to 8-17 overall and 2-7 in conference while Cypress improves to 20-6 overall and 8-1 in conference.
The Chargers used 56.8% shooting in the first half to establish a 49-29 lead over the Dons at the half. The Dons were able to play Cypress closer in the second half as they were outscored by just five points in the final 20 minutes.
Leading the way for the Dons was Rachel Cain with 12 points while Jocelyn Calvillo and Kylie Rodriguez each scored 11 points. Rodriguez also grabbed 10 rebounds to post a double-double for the Dons. Alysia Gamboa also put up double digits in scoring with 10 points.
