SANTA ANA, Calif. – Alexis Smith has signed her letter of intent to attend the University of La Verne after a strong 2017-18 basketball season. She becomes the first commit of the year for the Santa Ana Women's basketball team.
Smith averaged 8.9 points per game this season while shooting 37.6 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line. The sharp shooter out of Villa Park High played in all 26 games for the Dons and started 18 of them.
"I'm just so proud of Alexis. She is exactly what student-athlete should be and La Verne is adding a great player to their program", said Santa Ana Head Coach Flo Luppani.
The University of La Verne is an NCAA Division III school located in La Verne, California and competes in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
