Dons Routed by Irvine Valley on Friday Night

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana's women's basketball team hosted the No. 14 ranked Irvine Valley Lasers in another Orange Empire Conference game on Friday night. The Dons played inspired basketball for the first ten minutes but fell behind after the Lasers found their rhythm and pulled away for 77-56 win.

Once again, freshman guard Lexi Ross was the leading scorer for the Dons with 16 points and four rebounds on the night. She's now averaging a team high 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Cailey Vitug and Danielle Pryor contributed with nine points apiece while Nyla Bivens, Sally Morris and Angela Rodriguez combined for 17 points.

The Dons drop to 5-14, 1-5 with the loss while IVC improves to 16-3, 6-0.

Santa Ana will host the Saddleback Gauchos (3-13, 0-6) on Wednesday, January 30th at 5:00 p.m. It will also be Santa Ana College Scholar-Athlete Night as all 2018-19 scholar-athletes will be recognized during half time of the men's game.
