SAC Women’s Basketball Handles Golden West for 75-46 Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana women's basketball used two big quarters to pull away from Golden West in its last home game of the 2019-20 season on Thursday night.

The Dons outscored the Rustlers 50-18 in the first and third quarters combined, lifting them to a 75-46 win and improving their record to 12-14, 6-6.

SAC knocked down 10 three-pointers for the 10th time this season and are seventh in the state in made threes with 220 (31.3 percent). The Dons also dominated the glass with a 53-36 advantage while forcing 26 turnovers on the night.

Cheryl Caldera led the Dons in scoring, going 5-9 for 12 points and four rebounds. Right behind her was Brianna Aluva, who padded with stats with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists and three steals followed by Nicole Robles, who added 10 points and two assists.

UP NEXT: Santa Ana will go down the road to face Fullerton (15-9, 7-3) on Wednesday (2/19). In their first matchup, the Dons fell by a score of 68-61. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
