
SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana College Men's Wrestling team collected its second win of the season after defeating the Palomar Comets 29-17 in a Southern California Wrestling Alliance dual on Wednesday night.
SAC started out with a lead following a forfeit from the Comets in the 125 pound weight class. Following that, Artemis Shmuel picked up five points for the Dons as he won his match by a score of 18-0 for a technical fall.
In the 141 pound match, Makoa Shefte went head to head with Elijah Nero for three rounds but came up short, 6-3.
Palomar inched even closer after Dorian Parker defeated Jose Lira 16-1 for a technical fall, bringing the team score to 11-8.
From that point on, the Dons controlled the dual as Ezekiel Hueter, Edward Ramirez, Sergio Gutierrez took care of business in the next three bouts to go up 25-8.
The Comets scored their last points of the night with a win in the 184 pound match and a SAC forfeit at 197 pounds, making the score 25-17.
Joseph Nava finished the dual with a 17-4 win in the 285 pound bout, solidifying the 29-17 victory for SAC.
The Dons will now compete at the Meathead Movers Tournament at Cuesta College on Saturday, October 21st.
