Dons Fall to No. 18 Orange Coast, 2-0

SANTA ANA, Calif - It was a good showing for the Santa Ana Women's Soccer teams as they matched up against the No. 18 ranked Orange Coast Pirates (12-5-2, 5-5-1) on Tuesday afternoon.

Unfortunately, their effort was not enough as they were defeated by a score of 2-0 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) action.

The Dons (2-12-2, 2-9) looked evenly matched with the Pirates for the first 20 minutes of play but failed to clear a ball in the middle of the field that led to a goal in the 24th minute.

After holding their own for about 50 more minutes, Orange Coast broke through again to score one more time in the 75th minute.

Diana Hernandez created some opportunities for Santa Ana with four shots, two on goal in the match. Ximena Barreras and Wendy Millan both had one shot on goal as well.

Ariana Suarez did a solid job in goal with five saves on the day.

The Dons will have their final home match of the season on Friday when they host No. 7 Cypress at 3:00 p.m.
