SAC Volleyball Picks Up First OEC Win with Sweep of Santiago Canyon

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman libero Ally Wardlow impacted the game from multiple angles as she led the Santa Ana volleyball team to its first Orange Empire Conference win of the season as the Dons swept the Santiago Canyon Hawks 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-21) on Friday night.

Wardlow did her job in the middle of the Don defense as she collected 21 digs with only one receiving error. The standout from Foothill High also added five service aces and two assists in the match.

Myrandah Zepeda led Santa Ana's attack with 12 kills on 18 attempts while Ashly Hernandez continued to produce, putting away 11 kills and recording 18 digs.

Courtney Gomez (19A/2SA) and Jordan Ninmer (11A) split time at setter and combined for 30 assists and two services aces.  

The Dons are now 2-6 overall and 1-0 on OEC play before facing No. 2 Irvine Valley (8-0) on Wednesday night. The match is set to start at 6:00 p.m. at Santa Ana College.
