SANTA ANA - The Dons opened Orange Empire Conference competition today against Golden West College and fell to the defending state champions 22-3. The loss drops the Dons to 0-6 on the season and 0-1 in conference while the Rustlers remain undefeated at 9-0 overall and 2-0 in conference.
Golden West opened the match with a 5-1 lead after the first quarter before taking a 12-1 lead at the half. The next two quarters were identical scores of 5-1 as Golden West went on to the 22-3 victory.
For the Dons, Bernadette Raichel scored two of the goals while Virgina Christy scored the other goal.
