After two seasons on Santa Ana College's cross country and track & field teams, teammates Geovany Garcia and Edwin Ortiz-Lopez each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Missouri Valley College.
Garcia had a pair of strong performances this past cross country season as he took second place at the Palomar Invitational to open the season before finishing as the top-community college runner at the Titan Invitational against mainly four-year student-athletes.
Ortiz-Lopez put together a strong showing at home in track & field with a pair of third-place finishes in the 800 meter run and the 1500 meter run against Golden West College and Orange Coast College. He again finished third at home twice in the 800 meter run and the 1500 meter run against Fullerton College, Saddleback College and Golden West.
