HUNTINGTON BEACH- Men's and women's cross country place athletes in the top 5 in the Golden West Central Park Classic.

Sophomore Toni Lopez shined again and placed 4th out of 159 participants. Sophomore Lizbeth Luciano from Los Amigos High School placed in the 29th spot and took the women's cross country team took the overall ranking of 6th place for the Dons.

The men's cross country team placed four athletes in the top 20. Sophomore Paulino Sanchez placed the highest in the 9th spot and freshman Dalton Aviles was right behind him in 12th place. Sophomore Brian Ambrocio finised in 17th, while freshman Awal Hussen from Hoover High School topped at 16th place. The men's team finished in 4th place out of 20 teams.

The Dons will race again on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Mustang Challenge Invitational in Santa Clarita.
